5k for Johnnie Thomas

FAHVI is proud to partner with Dr. Nesson and The Hearing Doctors of New Jersey and The Alliance of Youth Leaders in the United States for this event. All proceeds from the 5k will go directly to helping Johnnie Thomas, a New Jersey resident, cover the costs of hearing aids and the service associated with the ongoing care. It will cost around $6,000 to fund Johnnie's care, and we hope that you can help us help Johnnie. Johnnie Thomas, 78 years old, was born in Alabama and now lives in Newark, New Jersey with his wife. In Newark, he worked at his uncle's grocery store for 5 years until he became a taxi cab and limo driver. After his job as a driver, he worked at the Budweiser factory in Newark. Although he retired from Budweiser, he heavily enjoyed helping the community and took up a part-time job as a crossing guard helping children safely walk across the busy streets after school. However, now he is suffering from a hearing impairment in both of his ears. Johnnie has been seeking care from the University Hospital in Newark, but he simply cannot afford the hearing aids he desperately needs. We hope that with your help, we can give Johnnie the care he deserves.
